     4.Certify the terms of Income, Assets, Knowledge, Professional Expertise, Relaionship with a Thai Citizen.
     5.Must understand in speaking and listening Thai language.

Q : What are the qualifications of the applicants who apply for Residence Permit in the category of Investment?

A : 1. Foreigner must certify his/her Certificate of money transfer from abroad to any bank in the Kingdom of Thailand for the total amount of at least 10 million baht which must be issued by the bank that the transaction occured.
     2. His/her investments must have characteristics to be beneficial to the country's economy, either or combined in the following cases.
         2.1 Invest in the limited company or the public company under the condition that he/she must hold the Investment for 3 consecutive years since the day he/she obtains the residence permit and ahve to submit the documents.
         2.2 Invest in the government or state enterprise bonds under the condition that he/she cannot transfer his/her ownership or pawn either bonds or ownership for 3 consecutive years since the day he/she obtains the residence permit and have to submit the documents.
         2.3 Invest in the Thai Stock Market e.g. ordinary shares, debentures, investment untils which must be approved or certified by the Security and Exchange Commission under the condition that he/she cannot either transfer or pawn his/her shares.
      3.The approval for the residence permit, must certify the evidence of investment holding to the Immigration Board or Competent officer who is assigned within September of each year for a period of three consecutive years from the date of obtaining a residence permit. This condition will be by allowing the board and secretaries Immigration Boardor a competent official who is authorized to audit the investment in accordance with the criteria set whether specidied by the Immigration Committee or not, and then report to the Immigration Board within November of each year.

Q : What are the qualitfication of child for applying Residence Permit in the category of supporting Thai Citizen or being supported by Thai Citzen?

A : The qualifications are:
     1.Must be a child by blood.
     2.Father or Mother must be age 50 years old up until the date of applicant.
     3.The sponsor must have an average annual income not less than 30,000 Baht monthly for at least 2 consecutive years up to the date of applicant and must present proof of tax payment.

Q : What are the qualification of Father or Mother for appling Residence Permit in the category of supporting Thai Citizen child?

A : The qualifications are:
     1. Must be father or mother by blood with Registration of Legitimationof Child.
     2. Child must be unmarried and the age must be below 20 years. If the age is over 20 years on the date of applicant. There must be a reason for the need to remain under care of the father or mother, such as studying at the below level than Bachelor Degree with presenting the certificate from the institue educational.
     3. The sponsor must have an average annual income not less than 30,000 Baht monthly for at least 2 consecutive years up to the date of applicant and must present proof of tax payment.

Q : What are the Applications Consideration?

A : 1. The applications will be submitted for the consideration by The Immigration Commission which consists of the representatives from The Ministry of Interfor, The Ministry of Foreigner Affairs, Kingdom of Thailand, The Royal Thai Police Headquarters, The Ministry of Labour, Office of the Attorney General, The Board of Investment of Thailand, The Secretariat of the National Security Council, The Tourism Authoristy of Thailand, and The Immigration Bureau with the final approval by The Minister of Interior.
     2. To grant approval for the residence permit application, The Immigration Commission will take into its consideration the applicant's qualifications in terms of income, assets, knowledge, perofessional expertise, relationship with a Thai Citizen, national security, personallity health, the understanding of Thai language, and other appropriate conditions due to current economic and social surroundings, and government policy.
     3. Timing for the consideration process varies each year, depending on the policy of The Immigration Commission and The Iministry of Interior.

 

Q : What are the Procedures after the applications are accepted?

A : 1. The Immigration officers will grant the applicants for 180 days extension of stay on the date of application submission first and the next extension will be granted for 180 days until the results of the applications come out from The Immigration Commission.
     2. The applicants and those who get involved with the applications will get an appointment card to come for an interview with the Immigration Officers. The interview includes the test of the understaning of Thai language: speaking and listening (the applicants must come fro the interview on the date of appointment; otherwise, without an appropriate reason, it will be automatically taken into the consideration that they cancel the applications.
     3. The applicants who are 14 years of age up to the application submission date must be checked their criminal records as the followings:
