Opening Thai bank account for foreigners is not complicated but depending on their type of visa, the required documents vary. Based on different type of visa, the conditions are as follows:
- For foreigners residing in Thailand on long-term visas like Non-B, Non-O, Non-ED, they can open a regular Thai bank account without needing to purchase insurance.
Processing Steps:
- Initial consultation and document review.
- Appointment for setting up Thai bank account from desired bank
- Once the process is completed, immediately provide the bank passbook to the customer.
Required Documents
Long-term visa Group
- Original passport with copies of every page.
- Work permit with copies of every page (if on Non-B visa)
- Thai Address and Phone number
- Employer's introduction letter for bank account opening (if applicable) (if on Non-B visa)
- For student visa (Non-ED), it must be a full course of 2 years and 4 years only.
- For Non-O visa, you must have a visa remaining for more than 15 days.
