Foreigners who wishing to enter Thailand during COVID-19 epidemic
Foreigners can enter Thailand during the COVID-19 epidemic but they have to quarantine for 14 days and must have a valid visa because Thailand allows certain types of visas only to enter Thailand during the COVID-19 epidemic.
During a COVID-19 situation, Wonderfulpackage Would like to give an example of traveling to Thailand Types of foreigners permitted to enter Thailand from the Royal Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Foreigner who have permitted to enter Thailand from Cambodia are as follows:
- Foreigners who need medical treatment in Thailand, and their attendants not more than 3 people. However, this shall not include medical treatment for COVID–19.
- Foreigners who are holding non-immigrant O visas who are spouses, parents or children of Thai nationals.
- Foreigners who hold Certificate Permanent Residence including their spouses and children.
- Foreigners who are holding a Work Permit and who are granted permission (WP3) from the Ministry of Labour to work in Thailand, including their spouses and children.
- Foreigners who are students of formal educational institutions approved by Thai authorities, including the parents or guardians of the students.
- Foreigners who are holding non-immigrant D and F visas as part of the diplomatic corps and their families.
- Foreigners who are holding a Tourist Visa or TR
- Foreigners who are holding a Special Tourist Visa or STV
- Foreign holders of Ordinary Passports who are qualified under visa exemption schemes (30 or 90 days) for tourism purposes
- Foreigners who are holding a Non-Immigrant B (Business)
- Foreigners who are holding a Non-Immigrant O for retirement or O-X or O-A
- Foreigners who are holding a Thailand Elite Visa.
** Other foreigners are not permitted to enter Thailand yet, including transit passengers (transit), labor visa (Non-Immigrant LA) holders, students of non-formal institutions (such as language schools, diving schools, boxing schools, etc.)
The documents that foreigners have to show at the immigration for entering Thailand.
- Passport and valid visa
- Certificate of Entry
- The completed and signed Declaration Form
- The Fit to Fly Certificate /Fit to Travel Health Certificate which is not more than 72 hours before departure
- The COVID-19 PCR test results in RT-PCR Type with negative result which is not more than 72 hours before departure
How to obtain a Certificate of Entry and visa to entering Thailand
The documents that all types of foreigners must show to the embassy
- Passport and a copy
- Health insurance policy covering all expenditures of medical treatments during stay in Thailand, including COVID-19 worth at least 100,000 USD
- Booking confirmed of accommodation for 14-day quarantine in the Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) or Alternative Local State Quarantine (ALSQ) or rganizational Quarantine (OQ) depending on the type of foreigner.

Documents required from specific categories of foreigners

- a confirmation letter (and an affidavit of support for accompanying persons) from the Department of Health Service Support of the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand

Air entry: flight number, date and time of arrival in Thailand, airport of destination in Thailand. If you fly to Don Muang Airport, you must submit your Fit-to-Fly Health Certificate and your COVID-19 Test Result to the Royal Thai Embassy at least 24 hours before departure too.
Land entry: full name and phone number of driver, ambulance plate number, date and time of pick-up at the border
- You will need a medical tourist (MT) visa or a Non-Immigrant O visa. The visa processing fee is 40 USD or 80 USD respectively.
- Your accompanying persons will need a Non-Immigrant O visa (Medical).

Foreigners who are spouses, parents, or children of Thai nationals
|
- proof of family relation to a Thai national, such as a marriage certificate, a birth certificate, or other documents issued by relevant authorities
- You will need a Non-Immigrant O visa.

Foreigners who hold a Thai Certificate of Residence, and their spouses/children
|
- a valid certificate of residence (Tor Mor 15, Tor Mor 16, or Tor Mor 17)
- a valid re-entry permit or non-quota immigrant visa
- (for spouses/children) proof of relation, such as a marriage certificate, a birth certificate, etc.

| Foreigners who have a valid work permit or have been given permission to work in Thailand, and their spouses/children |
- a valid work permit or letter of permission to work in Thailand, issued by a relevant authority, i.e. the Ministry of Labour for general workers, the Ministry of Education for non-international school teachers, the international schools for international school teachers, the Board of Investment for investors
- In case of teachers, the Royal Thai Embassy can only accept applications to enter Thailand by teachers who have been approved by the Ministry of Education.
- (for spouses/children) proof of relation, such as a marriage certificate, a birth certificate, etc
- You will need a Non-Immigrant B/IB/M/RS/SMART visa. (Depending on the case
- Your spouses and children will need a Non-Immigrant O visa.

| Foreigners who are students of accredited formal education institutions in Thailand, and their parents/guardians |
- a letter from your education institution (formal education institution under the supervision of the Government, universities under the supervision of the Government or private entities, or private schools or international universities) confirming your current student status
- a letter from the Thai government agency that oversees your school (not required in case of international schools or universities)
- (for parents/guardians) proof of relation, such as a birth certificate, a court decision
- You will need a Non-Immigrant ED visa.
- Your parents/guardians will need a Non-Immigrant O visa.

- a letter from your company indicating your position, length of employment, salary, and purpose of visit to Thailand
- documents showing correspondence with business partners in Thailand (If you do not work with any company or organization)
- evidence of financial status in the case where you are self-employed (In case of wanting to become a business operator in Thailand)
- a letter of invitation from trading or associated partners/companies in Thailand such as corporate documents of trading or associated partners/companies in Thailand, business registration and business license with a minimum of 2 million Thai Baht of capital, list of shareholders, Factory business license (if any), value-added tax registration, balance sheet of the latest year, etc.
- a bank statement where there must be at least an equivalent of 500,000 Thai Baht during the past 6 months
- If you are an investor, a proof of building ownership, a Thai bank statement, or a certificate of Thai government bonds, worth at least 3 million Thai Baht
